Higher Education and Career:
From early childhood, he was a brilliant student with extraordinary memory, earning the affection and attention of his teachers. In 1951, he secured the first position in the national Fāz̤il exam, when only 47 candidates across Pakistan had achieved first division. This great friend of Allah studied both Islamic jurisprudence and secular subjects with dedication. He completed his B.A. (Honors) and M.A. in Economics with distinction from Dhaka University, and later obtained an LL.B. degree, entering the legal profession as an advocate at the Dhaka High Court. Although a student of the humanities, he developed deep interest in science and Arabic, and by the grace of Allah, gained superior knowledge in subjects such as astronomy, philosophy, physiology, psychology, anatomy, physics, and chemistry, often surpassing students formally enrolled in those disciplines. He became a master of the Arabic language, attracting numerous esteemed scholars from home and abroad who sought his guidance in transforming their knowledge into spiritual practice. He had a deep love for teaching, choosing it as his profession. He served for 16 years as the Head of the Economics Department at Manikganj Debendra College. His teaching style was so unique and effective that students from other departments would skip their own classes to attend his lectures. Notably, his students never needed private tuition, except for those in the English department, whom he occasionally tutored. He also served as a Senior Examiner in the Economics Department at Dhaka University and held the position of General Secretary of the Psychoanalysis Association of East and West Pakistan. During his university life, he began to explore multiple fields of knowledge outside the curriculum, using the central library to read extensively on philosophy, science, theology, and literature. He was especially fascinated by the scientific contributions of Newton and Einstein, which led to a deeper engagement with cosmology and biology. He aspired to reach a philosophical worldview by blending science with spirituality. Key areas of his reading and research included:
• Islamic Philosophy: Especially Imam Ghazzālī’s (R.A.) theological and philosophical thought.
• Comparative Religion: Major world religions and folk traditions, including their development.
• Western Philosophy: Hegelian idealism, Darwin and Spencer’s mechanical evolutionism, Henri Bergson’s creative evolution, Marxism, and Bertrand Russell’s skeptical writings.
• Foreign Literature: Works of Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, and others.
• Bengali Literature: Notably Kaikobad, Mir Mosharraf Hossain, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Rabindranath Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, and Jasimuddin. He was particularly influenced by Rabindranath’s poetry, especially its reflections on nature and spirituality.
Activist Of Language Movement:
During the 1952 Language Movement, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi (RA) marched alongside Martyr Salam, Martyr Barkat, and Martyr Rafiq according to the day's protest program for the mother tongue and thunderously proclaimed, “We want Bangla as the state language.” In his own words, “When the Pakistani military opened fire on the procession, the bullet passed by my right side and hit Martyr Rafiq. Instantly, those people fell to the ground and died. If the bullet had come slightly to the left, it would have hit me.” Since Allah accomplishes His work through His saints, He protected him.
Engagement in Politics:
In 1970, upon the instruction of his spiritual guide (Murshid Qibla), Allah’s Qutb and founder of the Charmonai Darbar Sharif, Pir Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Ishaq (RA), he contested the election from the Muslim League (Kayyum faction) with the Tiger symbol, representing the constituency of Harirampur–Shibalaya, Manikganj-1. At that time, Alomgir Hossain of Chala village, Muhammad Shahjahan Khan of Ramkrishnapur village, and Maulana Fakhr Uddin assisted him. He contested solely to fulfill his Pir’s command. Afterwards, his spiritual guide said to him, “Azharul Islam Barrister Sahib, you must not engage in politics.” Following this directive, he never again participated in politics.
Eminent Muslim Scientist:
Pure saints of Allah are blessed with immense goodness. Possessing superior intellect, they can accomplish in a short time what ordinary people require long effort and time to achieve. Looking at history, one can see that Muslim scientists have made the greatest contributions in the field of discovery. The same was true even in the 20th century. Below are some discoveries by Professor (Retd.) Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi (RA):
Atomic Scientist:
He was a renowned amateur atomic scientist. After conducting ten long years of research on the human cell, in 1986 he discovered a completely new theory in atomic science, which he used to prove that the punishment of the grave is real. The theory is: "Man will have never been vanishing, and one man divided into crore of crores atom-man after death, they are roaming about on the air." That is, “After death, a human does not vanish; a person exists as billions of atom-sized humans floating in the air.”
Unless one is a scientific researcher, this theory is difficult to comprehend. He published the theory in a 56-page book titled "The Great Dream (Mahaswapna)." Notably, at the time of its publication, cloning theory and genetic theory had not yet been discovered in the world. However, the foundational concepts of cloning and genetics were already present in his book—15 years before the official discoveries. In the future, this theory could enable the identification of deceased people's genes from the air.A detailed article on this theory was published in the February 2006 issue of the monthly Bhatinao magazine.
Astronomical Scientist:
He was also an amateur space scientist. In 1991, he wrote a book titled "The Great Thought (Maha-Bhabna): A Philosophy of Astronomy," through which he attempted to prove the existence of God using space science. In this book, he openly challenged the world regarding the understanding of God's existence. In history, he is the only known Muslim scientist to have issued a "World Challenge" on the comprehension of God's existence. According to prominent Islamic thinker and researcher Dr. Harun-ur-Rashid (Lecturer, DMC), if anything in the world today can be called modern astronomy, it is “The Great Thought (Maha-Bhabna).”
Receiving Golden Award:
This extraordinary, divinely-gifted individual received two gold medals. The first: On March 13, 1999, he was awarded a gold medal by Dr. Sikandar Ali Ibrahimi Sahib, as his book "Maha Bhavna" (Great Reflection) was judged the finest literary work of the era by nearly 200 doctors and Muslim philosophers from around the world. This event was covered in detail in the Daily Inqilab newspaper in March 1999. The second: The people of Manikganj felt proud and honored that one of their own had authored the finest work of the era and received a gold medal. In February 2000, the then-former minister Colonel (Retd.) Abdul Malek Sahib, on behalf of the Citizens' Committee, presented him with a gold medal. At the time, his colleagues from Debendra College, the current mayor of Manikganj Municipality, Ramzan Ali, and other prominent individuals were present.
The Great Poet:
He was a poet of an exceptionally high caliber. In 1981, he composed 107 spiritual ghazals in a book titled "Taranaye Jannat" (Melody of Paradise). Each of these poems is imbued with deep mystical knowledge. Even today, his devoted disciple Abdul Qadir Molla Sahib melodiously renders them in the original tunes set by the poet. Notably, at the request of the famous mystic singer Abdul Alim, he wrote and composed around 10 Islamic songs, all of which became extremely popular. His condition was that his name not be disclosed as the lyricist; hence, the songs remain unattributed. Being a poetic genius, he often spoke in the language of literature and verse.
The Great Literary Figure:
He was a towering literary personality. His eight authored books have been hailed as rare jewels in the ocean of literature. Many learned individuals have remarked that no one has ever presented a subject as dry as science in such a profoundly literary style before.
Mastering Spirituality and ascension of Divine Arcane Knowledge:
He was a born Wali (friend of God) of the highest spiritual order. Great saints (Qutub-ul-Aqtabs) begin praying for such a soul even before they descend into this world. Through the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), God informs the future parents, teachers, or a contemporary spiritual guide of the arrival of such a soul. When he was in his mother's womb, she dreamt of the Prophet (peace be upon him) smiling and gifting her a red rose. At the same time, a radiant red light spread all around, filling the surroundings with brightness (Alhamdulillah). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever sees me in a dream—or in reality—the fire of Hell is forbidden for him." If merely seeing him in a dream saves one from Hellfire, what might a smiling gift from him signify? Spiritually enlightened devotees can easily grasp its meaning. . When the child Morshed Qibla would sleep, sunlight would fall on his bed through a nearby window. A snake coiled itself around the window to block the sunlight so it wouldn't touch the saint’s body (Alhamdulillah). Witnessing this, his father exclaimed, "God has sent me a gem in the form of a son. I have received glad tidings—there will be no one more learned than him in Islamic philosophy in his era (Alhamdulillah)."
He possessed an impressive and well-built physique. His handsome and captivating face, along with his mesmerizing gaze, enchanted everyone. His face would radiate with different hues: one at prayer, another before gatherings, and yet another during sermons and supplications. Sometimes a red glow would shine, other times golden light, reflecting his spiritual state.A line from a poem written about his Murshid (spiritual guide) offers insight into these changes: "In the radiant veil of the Murshid, lies another majestic one, - oh how can I hold him!” When he smiled, it seemed even the trees around him smiled with him. He had millions of followers, many of whom became disciples after seeing him just once. He spent 22 years of his life in rigorous spiritual striving for attaining nearness to God. From an early age, he would sit alone in solitude, crying profusely and asking, “Who created me? Please let me see You.” While in grade seven, he realized he needed to learn Arabic to understand God, so he studied both in English-medium and Madrasah (Islamic school) systems. As a young boy, he attended a gathering of the founder of Furfura Sharif, Hazrat Mawlana Abu Bakr Siddiqi (rah.), and took the spiritual pledge (bay'ah) with him. However, due to his young age, he could not find the Pir again. He became determined to attain God and grew up with that intent. While studying at Government College, Chittagong, he simultaneously studied classical Arabic grammar at Hathazari Madrasa. In 1951, he took bay‘ah with Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Abdul Gani (rah.), a revered ascetic known for standing on one toe while engaged in remembrance (dhikr) for years. From the beginning, he followed his teacher's instructions with utmost respect and devotion. He spent nine years in spiritual practices across the hills of Assam and Chittagong. One time, his Pir’s shoe tore. Out of respect, he repaired it himself using the metal end of an umbrella in place of a needle, even injuring his own hand. He carried shoe polish, brushes, and combs in his bag during travels. When he returned the fixed shoe, his Pir embraced him, touched chest to chest, and prayed for him with tears. At that moment, he was taught the Ism-e-Azam (the Greatest Name of God), and shortly after, received the Khilafah (spiritual succession) of the Qadiri order. Later, his Pir directed him to Charmonai’s Pir, Hazrat Mawlana Syed Muhammad Ishaq (rah.), who could elvate himself off the ground and pray above pond. In 1960, he found him using guidance from his Pir's writings. Upon meeting, he kissed his feet and took bay‘ah with him. At night, he even lay down on a narrow path hoping that the saint’s blessed feet might step on him at Fajr (dawn prayer). Despite being a High Court lawyer at the time, such humility was rare. He received Khilafah in the Chishti-Sabiri order in just three years (1963) and spent thirteen more years with his spiritual grandfather. Hazrat Syed Muhammad Ishaq (rah.) used to affectionately call him “Azharul Islam Barrister Sahib.” In gatherings, he would present him to people saying, "Show the people this piece of my heart."
Morshed Qibla received Khilafah (spiritual succession) from both of the esteemed Chishti and Qadiri spiritual orders. Once, during the annual gathering at the sacred spiritual center of Charmonai, he was delivering a profound discourse on ‘Ilm-e-Ma‘rifat ( divine arcane knowledge), while his Murshid (spiritual guide) was inside the Qibla Bari (his residence). At that time, the Qutb of Allah, Hazrat Mawlana Sayyid Muhammad Ishaq Sahib (Rahmatullah Alaih), became so pleased with his speech that he came out of the house, ascended the stage, embraced him tightly, chest to chest, and offered a special prayer (du'a) for him. During that moment, he taught Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi Sahib (Rahmatullah Alaih) the concept of Azmatul Uzma (a very elevated spiritual knowledge), which is considered to be far above even the level of Ism-e-A‘zam (the greatest name of Allah). For his spiritual practice (dhikr), he would enclose a 3 by 4 cubit area with cloth in a secluded place so that no one could see him. Often, while engaging in dhikr at night, he would unknowingly wander into open fields and return before dawn. He would also perform dhikr in the mosque. Sometimes, during the spiritual ecstasy of dhikr, he would begin to leap, and in such moments, it appeared as if his blessed head was almost touching the mosque ceiling, and the dhikr would seem to emanate from the roots of all the 360 million hairs of his body. He even dug a grave and entered it to perform the remembrance of Allah, covering the top with soil. During these times, his beloved son, the servant of Allah, Dr. Muhammad Manzurul Islam Siddiqi Sahib, would bring food for him.
Tasawwuf Practice (Spiritual Practice) and few notable recognition of Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqui (RH):
Another Event (1994): In 1994, Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Md. Shamsul Haque, the principal of Uttar Badda Islamia Kamil Madrasa and the Khatib of Gulshan Central Mosque, was preparing to go for Hajj. Before departing, he requested prayers (du’a) from Qutb-ul-Aqtab Hazrat Maulana Azharul Islam Siddiqui (RA). Morshed Qibla told him, "After performing Salah in Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah Munawwarah, please convey my Salaam and Darood to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) during your visit to the Prophet’s blessed shrine." When the principal went for Hajj and visited the Holy Shrine of the Prophet (SAW), he began to convey the Salaam of people from Bangladesh by mentioning each name. As soon as he mentioned the name of Dayal Morshed Qibla, a response came from the sacred Rawdah of the Prophet (SAW): “Waqullahu minni salaam” — “And say that my Salaam has reached him.” (SubhanAllah). Just as the great spiritual leader Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) once received a response from the Prophet (SAW), so too did the Pir Sahib of Manikganj. This was witnessed and heard directly by Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Md. Shamsul Haque, who is still alive today as a living witness by the grace of Allah.
The Du‘a (Supplication) of Hazrat Mawlana Shamsul Haque Faridpuri (Rahmatullah Alaih):
Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Shamsul Haque Faridpuri Sahib (Rah.) (Shaykh of Jamia Ayet Furqania Madrasa, Lalbagh, Dhaka) once said to Alhaj Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi Sahib (Rah.): “I have made du‘a to Allah Almighty: O Lord, bestow upon an English- and Bengali-educated, knowledgeable individual the complete knowledge of both ‘Ilm-e-Shari‘ah and ‘Ilm-e-Ma‘rifat (knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence and spiritual insight). You yourself are the proof that my prayer has been accepted by Allah. He has granted you the complete knowledge of Shari‘ah and Ma‘rifat. (Alhamdulillah).”
The Du‘a of Hazrat Mawlana Muhammadullah Hafezzi Huzur (Rahmatullah Alaih):
The last Khalifah of Hakimul Ummat Hazrat Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (Rah.), Hazrat Mawlana Muhammadullah Hafezzi Huzur (Rah.), after reading the book Tarana-e-Jannat by Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi Sahib (Rah.), said: “I did not know that someone in the land of Bengal could write a book with such elevated insights of ‘Ilm-e-Ma‘rifat (spiritual knowledge) in such lively poetic language. I must go see him.” Then he visited the Manikganj Darbar Sharif, made heartfelt du‘a for him, and said: “I am with you in this world and I will be with you in the Hereafter as well.”
Instruction from Gharib-e-Nawaz Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (Rah.) Regarding the Biography:
In 2003, when a biography of Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi Sahib (Rah.) was to be written, his chief khalifah and eldest son Hazrat Mawlana Mufti Dr. Muhammad Manzurul Islam Siddiqi Sahib, along with one of his disciples, Riyazul, were instructed and blessed with du‘a by him. Riyazul began collecting various information for the biography. During this time, in a state of semi-consciousness, Gharib-e-Nawaz Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (Rah.) appeared to Riyazul holding a paper and said, “This is my biography.” Then he placed that biography over the life of Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi Sahib (Rah.) and said, “Just replace my name with his.” Upon collecting all the data, it was found that most of the events of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s (Rah.) life matched exactly with that of Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi Sahib (Rah.), with the only difference being the locations. In this context, two identical spiritual sayings from Hazrat Mawlana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi Sahib (Rah.) are: “In every era, how many truly recognize the real murshid? A murshid never truly dies in any time. If one could truly behold him, what striving would it require? If one could truly reflect on him, no other thought would remain.”
Daily routine of The Great Sheikh:
Waking Up in the Morning: He always woke up at dawn. Upon waking, he would take out his cap from under his pillow and place it on his head. He always kept his head covered while awake. He would then perform the Fajr prayer on time, always with the congregation. After prayer, he would remain seated and engage in the remembrance of Allah until sunrise. After that, he would offer six rak‘ahs of Ishraq prayer. Around 9 a.m., he would perform Chasht prayer and take a brief walk.
Teeth Cleaning: He used the miswak (natural toothbrush) before every prayer. He strongly instructed all his disciples to do the same. Around noon, he would brush his teeth with toothpaste using a soft brush.
Istinja (Cleansing After Relieving Oneself): He advised using 5, 7, or even 21 stones for cleaning after defecation. After that, he would thoroughly wash the area with soap three times. He would then wash both hands well with soap.
Wudu (Ablution): He would recite Durood Sharif during and after wudu. He never wiped his forehead after wudu. For Fajr wudu, he would splash cold water on his eyes. He made a pit covered with an iron mesh on which he placed the kettle and sat on a small wooden stool to make wudu. The mesh ensured that the water didn’t splash back onto him. He maintained great piety and cleanliness.
Prayer (Salah): He would tie a green turban for the fardh prayer after completing the sunnah prayers. He kept the turban on for the following sunnah, wajib, and nafl prayers. After making du‘a, he would slowly untie the turban in a prophetic manner.
Eating: Before eating, he would wash his hands, touch a little salt to his tongue, say Bismillah, and then begin eating. He always laid out a red cloth (dastarkhwan) before eating. If any food was left behind, he would pick it up and eat it. He used to lick his fingers properly, following the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Physical Labor: He planted trees, watered them, and weeded them himself. Fishing with a hook was one of his hobbies. He would fish in the pond inside his home with his beloved children and grandchildren. He liked lathi khela (stick-fighting). When he visited Terosree, he would engage in stick-fighting with local players. He also enjoyed playing lathi with his 7-year-old beloved grandson Muhammad Miqdad Siddiqi.
Pursuit of Knowledge: He continued acquiring knowledge until the end of his life. He read newspapers daily; in old age, his grandchildren would read to him. Every night he would listen to the 8:30 p.m. news on the radio.
Sleeping: Before sleeping, he would perform wudu, walk barefoot for a bit, and keep a torch, prayer beads (tasbih), cap, and head cloth on one side of his pillow. He covered his head and ears with the head cloth to protect against the fan air. He used a quilt while sleeping. As per sunnah, he kept a stick in one corner of his room. He never slept without properly tying all four corners of the mosquito net. First, he would lie facing the sky for a while, then on his left side, and finally on his right side facing the qibla, engaging in dhikr until he fell asleep. But he never slept for more than three hours on average. He would always wake up with the dhikr of “Illallah” on his lips. He spent most of the night in the remembrance of Allah and would cry while sitting. Regarding this, he said: “I have some lovers who, instead of sleeping in comfort, sit and cry for me late at night. I remain awake for those mad lovers and cry while sitting.” He deeply loved his disciples.
Emerging as a Renowned Spiritual Masterand Establishment of Ta‘leem-e-Zikr (Manikganj Darbar Sharif):
In 1965, under the instruction and blessings of the revered spiritual leader of Barisal, Huzur Qibla Al-Hajj Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Ishaq Sahib (RA), Ta‘leem-e-Zikr Manikganj Darbar Sharif was established. Since then, Hazrat tirelessly worked to spread the light of ‘Ilm-e-Shari‘ah (knowledge of Islamic law) and ‘Ilm-e-Ma‘rifat (spiritual knowledge) throughout the world. He would travel miles—sometimes on foot, sometimes by bicycle—to attend mahfils (religious gatherings), guiding people to the path of Islam. It is noteworthy that during the lifetime of his spiritual guide from Barisal, he never took bay‘ah (spiritual allegiance) in his own name, as he considered it disrespectful. In 1977, with the aim of nurturing true Islamic scholars (Haqquni ‘Ulama) in society, this great saint of Allah founded the Jamia Arabia Siddiqia Darul Uloom Madrasa, where, along with etiquette (adab), ‘Ilm-e-Shari‘ah, and ‘Ilm-e-Ma‘rifat, full education is imparted in Arabic, Urdu, science, and English. Through his tireless efforts, this spiritual giant brought around 130 million people worldwide onto the correct path of Islam and into love with Almighty Allah. Manikganj Darbar Sharif is a spiritual center founded on the love of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the strict observance of his Sunnah. Each year, he organized two major annual Islamic conferences during the Bengali months of Agrahayan and Falgun. These conferences provided comprehensive ta‘leem (education) and practical training in ‘Ilm-e-Ma‘rifat and ‘Ilm-e-Shari‘ah, equipping people with full guidance for living a life according to the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW). Devotees from all over the country and the world would come, burning with love for the Prophet (SAW), eager to learn and excel in the Sunnah. Here, everything from etiquette, knowledge, tasbih (prayer beads), turban, and miswak, to manners and proper religious dress, is tested in detail. Scholars from home and abroad have remarked: "Manikganj Darbar Sharif is a center of Sunnah and etiquette." The Qur'an and Hadith are the true sources of all knowledge, and the living proof of that can be seen with one's own eyes at Manikganj Darbar Sharif.
The Darbar Sharif has a relatively high number of educated, knowledgeable, and scholarly individuals. At present, the spiritual successor, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Dr. Muhammad Manzurul Islam Siddiqi, the eldest son and chief khalifah (spiritual successor) of Murshid Qibla, is carrying the torch. He is a Pir-e-Kamil (Perfect Spiritual Guide), renowned medical scientist and researcher, and Sheikh-ul-Hadith.
His qualifications include: • B.A. (Honours) • M.A. (Arabic Literature) • M.M. (Kamil in Hadith) • M.Phil. • LL.B • Ph.D. (in Hanafi Fiqh, University of Dhaka) By the order and blessings of his father, he has significantly expanded the Ta‘leem-e-Zikr and annual Islamic conferences of Manikganj Darbar Sharif, playing a strong role in spreading Islam worldwide. In the Falgun conference of 2000, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Dr. Muhammad Manzurul Islam Siddiqi was praised by his Murshid (Al-Hajj Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Azharul Islam Siddiqi RA), who said: “For you, I leave behind a man with a compassionate heart full of kindness for the Ummah. Whatever I achieved in spreading Islam during my lifetime, this beloved son of mine, a servant of Allah, will spread ten times more, InshaAllah. A father’s strength is in his son’s strength — ‘Bap ka beta, sipahi ka ghora’. Before this child came into the world, I wept and prayed to Allah for a son whom I could dedicate to the service of Islam. Allah accepted my prayer (Alhamdulillah).” If a saint of Allah who could transform a person from destined for Hell to a saint with just a glance wept to bring this person into the world, one can imagine what kind of remarkable person he must be. The wise can easily understand this. Let us all truly value this great blessing. It should be noted that all murids (disciples) and saliks (spiritual seekers) of Ta‘leem-e-Zikr Manikganj Darbar Sharif are completely free from religious extremism, superstition, and blind faith. This is because the Pir Sahib Huzur of Manikganj Darbar Sharif is not only a spiritual leader but also a globally recognized academic. In the entire Indian subcontinent, it is rare to find a spiritual guide with such a high level of education. He is a true saint of Allah, a zahid ‘alim (ascetic scholar), and a distinguished educator. All are invited to come into his company and strive to attain closeness to Almighty Allah..
Granting of Khilafah (Authorizing Spiritual Successors):
1. On the 20th of Falgun in 1999, his worthy eldest son, Al-Hajj Hazrat Maulana Mufti Dr. Muhammad Manzurul Islam Siddiqi Sahib, was granted full Khilafah (spiritual succession) in both the Chistiyya Sabiriya and Qadiriyya Sufi orders.
2. In 2000, Mufti Azam Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Abdul Hakim Sahib was granted Sanad (authorization) in the Qadiriyya Tariqah. He still regularly attends Talqin (spiritual instruction) at Manikganj Darbar Sharif with great respect and discipline.
3. In 2000, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Abdus Sattar Ashrafi Sahib was given Sanad to teach up to the "Nafi-e-Isbat" (Second Lesson) in the Chistiyya Sabiriya Tariqah, and was instructed to bring disciples to Manikganj Darbar Sharif for the Habs-e-Dam lesson.
4. In 2000, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Masum Billah Jihadi Sahib was similarly given Sanad to teach up to the "Nafi-e-Isbat" (Second Lesson) in the Chistiyya Sabiriya Tariqah, and to bring disciples to Manikganj Darbar Sharif for the Habs-e-Dam lesson. He has since passed away (intiqal).
Couple of Miraculous Incidents (Karamat):
In the lives of great saints of Allah (Qutb al-Aqtāb), many miraculous events occur by the will of the Almighty. These serve to strengthen the faith of common people. Here are a few such miracles (karamat) that have been recorded:
• Justice Md. Abdus Salam’s Incident: Professor Shamsul Alam, a khalifa (spiritual successor) of Hazrat Hafezzi Huzur, gave Justice Md. Abdus Salam—a respected judge of the People's Republic of Bangladesh—a spiritual book titled “Qasd al-Sabeel” written by Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (R). According to the judge, while reading the book one day, he visited Manikganj Darbar Sharif to pray the Asr prayer in congregation with Huzur Qibla. After the prayer, when he greeted Huzur Qibla with “Assalamu Alaikum”, the reply came with a surprising statement: “Before coming here for Asr prayer, you were reading the book Qasd al-Sabeel, weren’t you?” The judge confirmed it was true and was deeply astonished by Huzur’s ‘Ilm al-Kashf (spiritual insight).
• Location: Boyra (Harirampur, Manikganj): Huzur Qibla once visited the home of a disciple named Abdul Halim in the village of Boyra. Looking down at the ground, he remarked, “I can see a school of hilsa fish moving beneath the earth.” At the time, the disciple didn’t understand what he meant—and understandably so. Understanding the words of Allah's saints is itself a kind of karamat. About five and a half miles away was the Padma River. Within a short time, that entire area—about five and a half miles wide—was swallowed by the river, including the disciple’s home. Now, the place where he made that statement is part of the river, and large schools of hilsa fish are often seen there. Fishermen now frequent the area to catch hilsa in large numbers.
• Location: Nandeshree, Saturia: One day, Huzur Qibla was running late for the Asr prayer and the time was nearing its end. With a few disciples present, he instructed them: “Close all the doors and windows of the mosque. I will pray alone.” While Huzur Qibla was inside performing his prayer, the disciples waited outside. After a while, Abdul Qader Molla, a servant of Huzur Qibla, thought to check if any window remained open. Peeking through the mosque door, he witnessed something astonishing—Huzur Qibla’s prayer mat (jaye namaz) was elevated about a hand’s length above the ground, and Huzur Qibla was praying while suspended in the air (Alhamdulillah). This miraculous event was witnessed by Molla Bhai and several maulanas, all of whom are still alive today as living witnesses.
• Location: Golakanda One night, Morshed Qibla was asleep on his bed. Two of his disciples, Maulana Mujibur Rahman Lahori and Shawkat, were with him and also went to sleep. In the middle of the night, Maulana Lahori woke up and noticed that Morshed Qibla was not on his bed. He initially thought perhaps Morshed Qibla had gone to relieve himself. He searched carefully, but could not find him—not even in the mosque. While searching here and there, Maulana Lahori and Shawkat saw a bright light descending from the sky over the middle of a pond to the west. In the middle of that light, Morshed Qibla was seen praying on his prayer mat! (Alhamdulillah). After a while, Morshed Qibla, still on the prayer mat, began to float over the water towards the edge of the pond, with the light still shining from above. Fearing that Morshed Qibla might be displeased if he saw they had witnessed this, both disciples quickly returned to bed and lay down. But Allah’s friend (wali) understood that they had seen the event. Upon returning, he told them, "Whatever you have seen, never tell anyone about it during my lifetime." Both eyewitnesses—Maulana Mujibur Rahman Lahori and Shawkat—are still alive today by the grace of Allah.
• Another Event (1994): In 1994, Alhaj Hazrat Maulana Md.
